Milestones

All throughout my relationship with my husband, we make it a point to celebrate the achievements we’ve created together. It usually revolves around business for us, because we own our own business together, but it could be a celebration of anything. Celebrate the milestones that mean the most to you, not someone else.

It is important to set goals for yourself, we’ve talked about that a lot on this blog. Setting and achieving goals creates an important feedback loop where you get excited and rewarded on completion of a milestone/goal and you’re that much more likely to begin your next journey with a bit more fire. As you continue, this fire and passion will multiply within you and allow you to achieve things that you never thought possible even a short time ago. Success breeds success!!

You can start by creating a list of three things that are important to you. I recommend that you start small, and work on things you know you can achieve within one week. If you don’t have anything that you can get done quickly, take one of your bigger goals, break it down into pieces, and do a few of those. When you see what you can do with a little organization and motivation, you will be motivated to do even more, next time.

When you complete your first round, take time out to celebrate. Go out to dinner, spend a day with your loved ones, or take a day to relax and enjoy the finer things – like snuggling up on the couch with your favorite blanket and watching a wonderful movie on Netflix. You will come to associate hard work with rewards and good feelings, and once your subconscious mind makes that link, you will be very nearly unstoppable.

Did this method work for you? We would love to hear from you in the comments. Did you, instead, have a pretty tough time? Leave us a comment and we’ll take the time to troubleshoot the process and give you some great advice. We want to see you succeed!!
