I Sold A Painting!!!
Woooohooooo! The painting sold for $1270. 100% of this money, $1,270, will go toward the building and renovation of the dormitory for the orphans in Uganda. Currently, the windows do not close, there is no door, or mosquito nets, and they have no blankets. That area of Uganda is very cold as it is 2,000 meters above sea level. So making sure that the dormitory is safe and warm is a top priority. Moreover, the current dorm only holds 20 beds, and we have 60 full orphans, so expanding its size will allow us to house more children.
Brazilian Night Weekend
I’d like to encourage anyone located around the San Diego area to come join in a celebration of Brazilian culture, music, and dance at the Brazilian Night Weekend on May 24, 2009 at 10:00 PM. My Capoeira school Capoeira Mandinga is celebrating their tenth anniversary and its going to be a lot of fun and a great way to be introduced to Brazilian culture if you are interested. There will be more than 60 masters and teachers of Capoeira in attendance, so if you’re looking to get started with an amazing way to keep fit and learn some incredible athletic dance moves, this is definitely the place.
